What is Career Exploration?

You're in college and that first big job feels forever away. Why worry about Career Planning now? Great question!

Career Planning is identifying your strengths, barriers, skills, interests, personality, and abilities and translating that information into achievable steps to gain employment. Matching your life, financial, career, and education needs together assures you are building the life you want for yourself on your schedule.

Having these conversations and planning now helps give students the information they need to make the best choice. In the end, it saves them time, money, and effort!

When should a student see a Career Exploration Coordinator?

• If you are enrolled in the Exploratory Pathway. You know what kind of field you want but not necessarily the work you want to do. For example, " I want to help people", "I want to work with my hands", or "I want to be in the medical field鈥�?
• Having a lot of interests and you need help narrowing them down.
• Making a career change.
• Wanting to confirm you are in the correct field.
• Want confirmation on labor markets and income potential of your current career.
