Honors Program

Eligible ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø students are invited by faculty and other talented students to get the most from their educational experience by joining the ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø Honors Program.

Overview

The mission of the ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø Honors Program is to transform students’ academic experiences by offering opportunities to challenge themselves academically, cultivate leadership skills and promote community engagement. This program is suitable for high-achieving and motivated students. 

The program strives to:

  • Provide opportunities for students to challenge themselves outside of regular academic courses in honors seminars and through independent research projects.
  • Encourage and support students to seek leadership opportunities within and/or outside of ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø.
  • Promote community engagement by participating in one or more extracurricular academic events.

The program embraces four core philosophies:

  3. Scholarship
  4. Fellowship

The ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø Honors Program is uniquely designed for each individual and is a two-year commitment, renewable per semester.

Eligibility

The program is open to any ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø student who meets the following eligibility requirements

  • 3.5 cumulative GPA in high school or college courses
  • Placement or met the prerequisites for college-level English, Reading, and Math 

There are additional requirements for students who are returning with at least 12 completed college-level credit hours. To learn more about eligibility, please contact any of the Honors Program Directors. 

Application process

Students must apply for admission to the ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø Honors Program using the online application form below. This form includes an essay. Applications will be scored using a standardized rubric. Students will be admitted each fall and spring semester.
